Bernera Capital is a private equity investor focused on mid-market buyout and growth equity opportunities in Central Europe and Southeast Asia, with a target investment size of $10-50 million. The main sectors of interest includes business services, information technology, healthcare, agriculture technology and services, and others. The typical investment target would have an EBITDA of at least $ 1 million.
A key investment criteria is a solid management team with demonstrated capabilities to drive growth. Bernera typically takes majority or large minority stakes in portfolio companies and plays an active role to support growth and business strategy.
Infrastructure Investment
As an infrastructure investor, Bernera’s mandate is to seek out, arrange and fund projects in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Main areas of focus are high value-added and quality projects in water treatment, IT systems, ancillary road infrastructure (i.e. sophisticated toll road systems), and renewable energy. The team’s track record includes large investment projects in strategic areas of infrastructure development globally. We work with local and multinational companies to identify investments where we have differential insights and a unique ability to drive transformational change.
The typical investment size for Bernera is in the range of $50-250 million, either as sole investor or with co-investors. Bernera is looking at opportunities across the whole spectrum of maturity, i.e. greenfield, brownfield, or operational-stage projects.
